There are several situations where we see foreign companies looking to use an employer of record in China. These include:

  • Companies needing local staff to handle on the ground operations, client meetings or supplier management. But the workload or company strategy does not lend itself to the setup of a representative office or a WFOE.

Not necessarily. Staff members can work remotely based as long as the employer has the complete details of their residential addresses. However, FDI China offers hot-desk rentals upon request.

No, your staff member can be employed and located anywhere in China. Their employment status will be recorded by the local bureau according to their locality.

Local workers can be employed in one day, depending on their professional situationo. For foreign staff, the duration depends on the immigration procedure (visa application).

The standard procedure calls for a 1-month notice period prior to the termination, while financial compensation includes one month’s salary per year of employment.
